Design Philosophy
It is easy to make a place look good. The hard part is making it feel good. My approach to design puts people first. Design should serve the needs of the people who live in a space, not the other way around. When a design is tailored to the people who use it, the design is more enduring and more personal. It feels good, it lives well and, of course, it looks great.
Years in the future we want the space to look as good as it does on the day we finished. By designing for real life, we ensure that a good design will stand the test of time. Similarly, we do not get caught up in the “look” of the moment or any other design trends. Moments pass, and trends change, so we focus on timeless principles of design and a mix of objects from different time periods.
With over 20 years of experience throughout North Carolina I have developed an approach that helps create spaces that look and feel good. I am currently accepting new clients and would love to talk with you about your project. The markets in which I work include Atlantic Beach/Morehead City, Wrightsville Beach/Wilmington, Raleigh and Greensboro.
